Martinez, Sep. 1, 1913.

After finishing enclosed leaflet, over two weeks ago I went to the Harriman Idaho Ranch for a short visit, from which I have just returned. I had good reason to believe that Bade [diacritic] & Colby would have the leaflet ready for distribution by the 20th of last month at latest, but from unaccountable delays it is not yet ready. Bade [diacritic] is writing a book about God & Colby is to be absent from the city & Hetch Hetchy for a month But fortunately Parsons will be back from the north today & we will make these leaflets fly in merry flocks.
Expect to rouse Los Angeles region & get women's clubs to speak. Best of all is your open letter

and other skillful, telling, indefatigable work. You are our mainstay & we will win the fight!
I spoke to Mrs H on the Academy as you directed & no doubt you will find her ready to hear you.
With many many thanks dear Johnson I am ever faithfully admiringly yours

John Muir
