Darling Helen
I hve just sent you by Express a box of cherries Royal Anns good raw or cooked Old Fong & I picked them this morning & delivered them to the Ex Agent at Muir Station about 9 A.M. so they will be fresh tomorrow when they arrive at Daggett. The grew on the three trees of my little ranch. Tom says he is going to send you box also.
The food you speak of is not exactly excellent for an old fellow but Wanda is doing all she can - often short of help. I've forgotten whether or not I told you of the Honorary LL.D. the University of California gave me last commencement. I must have looked grim & heroic in my academic robes in the Green theatre I'm so Glad your well & happy.
Your loving father
