May 14, 1913.

Dear Mr. Muir:

We are returning by express today the original drawings of the illustrations to "The Story of My Boyhood and Youth" together with drawings and photographs which you sent us for "My First Sumner in the Sierras" but which were not used in the book. We do not quite know why these latter have not been sent back to you before, but we suppose you have not needed them.

Yours very truly,

[illegible]
