Dear Mr. Muir-

I got home on 2nd inst- after a very easy & comfortable trip . On 6th May I went thro' to Edinbro' & stayed a night with the Douglases. I found them all well, but Mr. D. senior, had not been well during the

winter- however he is now as well as a man of 84 years can expect to be. I handed over the fossil specimens you gave me for him, & no doubt by this time they are in the hands of a man who can make good

use of them. No doubt that same man will let you have his opinion on them.
I got home in time for a second spring. I was over at Loch Lomond today- & under the influence of a fine mild sunny day, all my affection for Scotland took a new lease of life. I hope it won't be
