Dear Sister Joanna,
Here is some of poor Annie's money, with none of which, as I think I told you, will I have anything to do except helping to distribute it in accordance with her will, which though technically imperfect should have been lovingly respected We are all glad to hear of your improving health, all are pretty well here. Maggie was very low this winter, but is now much better. When I went to see her yesterday she was hanging out the week's washing
With best wishes to you all I am ever affectionately your brother John
