My dear Mr. Muir:
I am enclosing herewith invitation from Mr. Frank A. Miller, proprietor of the Glenwood Inn, to visit Riverside as his guest. Mr. Miller asked me to forward it to you inasmuch as he had inadvertently mislaid your address.
Mr. Miller is an old time, warm personal and business friend of mine. He is made of the right sort of stuff and is doing the right sort of things,- is going to do a great work in building the new hotel in Yosemite. What he has done toward making Riverside delightful as a Mecca for visitors, and in winning for the Glenwood the praise and approbation of such men as President Roosevelt and Doctor Jordan [illegible] he proposes to do for the Yosemite by erecting a hotel which shall be thoroughly appropriate in every way and most fittingly interpret the spirit of the Valley.
I am sure you would find a visit to Riverside and to the Mission Inn very enjoyable, and to meet Mr. Miller is to me always a delight. Maybe you could at the same time give him some ideas which would help him to make the new Yosemite Hotel perfectly harmonious with its surroundings. [illegible]
