Merry Christmas

Good Man,

That was kind of you to send us send us such word of cheer. There is always room for such, and it is kept in a place where it resounds well. A shower of good-will and presents has reached us for Thanks giving Day, and we do not know why all this.
Tell Wanda not to mind when she runs the needle ever and again into her fingers while he makes those dainties. There is never a period in the life like that one. Neither let her forbid her husband to fondle all those "white garments." When I went to Byron springs in search of health, I found little in their hog-wallows of mud. But I had a little cambric nighty under my pillow, and I dreamt like Jacob, and saw cherubs come down form heave. That was my source of health.
And to Helen tell for a Christmas greeting, that people tell me that I just have emerged from five months of serous sickness. Even then they tell me such, I disbelieve them. For of my two personalities live only in the stronger, and that rises higher with every downward movement of the other. Sometime the two shall have a quarrel : and then I am well. For I shall have overcome. Only those that are "choosen in the furnace of affliction "know that chastisement means not punishment, but purification, and there are not supposed to be mountains than the calender allows for.
The little man is somewhat on his ear because you congratulated him on his ability to calligraphy his signature. Here is a full measure of his achievements, and no wonder he wishes that Santa Claus might bring him some marbles anyway, as long as Mama says that he don't come nay longer to boys as big as this little man.
Pick some red berries, and place them in water on your shelf, place them there for us. And it shall be regarded as a candle on an altar and be counted to you for righteousness.
