Dear Mrs Muir Webster,
I heartily congratulate you on your good scotch name. To be born of Scotch parents is a great blessing. Muir is rather a common name in Scotland and whether we are nearly related or not I don't know; but to be Scotch at all and related to the heasher moorlands or Muirlands, is a grand f[illegible]. Should you ever come to this side of the continent come to my house, I shall, I assure you, be glad to see you, and I am ever faithfully yours.
