Martinez, May 4, 1896.

My dear Lukens

At the last election of the Sierra Club I was reelected president & I appointed you a member of the Standing Committee on Publications & Communications. I hope you will be able to give some attention to the articles in our bulletings & above all have a good long one of your own on your travels in the Sierra.
We all enjoyed your visit ever so much & hope it will not be long ere You & Your wife make us another visit, & if you could bring the rest of the family esecially Lottie I would be glad.
I mean to start soon for Alaska

Ever Cordially Yours
