Dear Muir:-
I hope no news as good news. It has occurred very often to me to ask how Mrs. Muir iS getting on - but, the world, the flesh and the devil - more particularly the devil - are on my trail at present, and most of my good resolutions have to go their proverbial way.
I hope sincerely that your wife is by now well along the road to recovery. Please give her our kindest regards, and our love to the two good girls.
With all good wishes,
Always your friend,
Mr. John Muir.
