Msr. Muir [illegible] and
Mention of our camp in San Andreas
Martinez, Cal. July 6/05.
Dear Mr, Lukene:-
We are all home again, called back by Mrs. Muir's sickness, less than a day after we reached our camp ground in Arizona. She has a severe attack of pneumonia, complicated perhaps, with some obscure chronic trouble which has brought her very low indeed. During the last three days she has rested easily and seems at times hopefully better.
We all look fondly baok to our San Andreas camp, almost all the pleasure of which we owe to you and Mrs. Jones. It stands in our memories as a thing apart, never to be forgotten.
Wishing you good luck in all your work I am, with kindest regards to your wife and daughter,
Faithfully yours,
John Muir
