Dear Mr Muir,
I take shame to myself that your kind letter of Feb. 15th and the most interesting book which accompanied it should have remained so long unacknowedged. Pressure of work must be my excuse, and also the desire to know more of the contents of my present in order the better to thank you for it. I have now read several chapters to my wife, and we are both very pleased with the sympathetic interpretation you gave of some of nature's loveliest and rarest pleases.
Naturally the great ranges of this continent will be for you the object of greatest interest when you realize your visit, and we are far out in the camp; but we should feel honored could you turn aside to see us. We are a night's train journey out from Buenos Aires.
Thanks for you kind hope that we should visit you if ever in California. It seems an unlikely thing, but as they say here Quien sabe.
With kind regards
Believe me
Yours sincerely,
Eldred J. D. Marcus
