Mr. E. A. Sterling,
Bureau of Forestry,
Washington, D.C.
Dear Mr. Sterling:
I would gladly send you the little article you want on the big trees of Australia if I had the time to prepare it. But I am completely snowed under with work already promised and which must be cleared off before any-thing new, however small, is taken on. Therefore, much as I regret to say it, my best wishes is at present all I can send you.
I was glad to see by the newspapers that your California Forestry bill had passed, but was not aware that it had been seriously amended.
Faithfully yours,
[illegible]
