[First draft of letter. In note-bock.
Martinez, Feb, 27, '05.
Mrs. E. [Pelton] Wilson,
593 Sycamore St.,L0akland].
Dear Mrs, Wilson:
I was sure on my return home after a week's stay in Sacramento that you had gone away. I enjoyed reading your long letter with its many pleasant associations of anld lang syne. I should like to see some of those early letters. If for no other reason than for the descriptions of places they may contain, but don't think of sanding any of them. Come again and see us as soon as you can in this fine weather, and bring them with you, so says Mrs. Muir, and so say we all.
Can't you come up next Saturday with Wanda? I suppose the best way will be to go over to S. F, and take the 7 o'olook Santa Fe train at the Ferry.
Faithfully yours,
[John Muir]
