[Robert Underwood Johnson]
Martinez, Fob. 27, '05,
Dear Mr. Johnson:
I wrote you the other day after sending a telegram proclaiming victory after a hard fight. Hereafter most of the Yosemite work will be done on your side of the continent, and I look to you as leader.
I enclose letter from Mr. Colby, with copy of recession bill. Please return both.
Faithfully yours,
[John Muir]
