I gladly avail myself of this opportunity of enclosing for you a Post Office Order for 40 Dollars — I am well aware that this amount is nothing like a compensation for you — but please to accept of it in the meantime I hope this will find you all in your usual health. I hope Joanna is still improving. I often feel thankful that she is under your care.

I trust that many a blessing from heaven will rest down upon you and yours, for the great kindness and care you have bestowed on our precious sick one May I not hope for a visit from any of you this fall — The friends here are all in their usual health David has been feeling better since he came home — John Reid has been in Minnesota for some time and is now in Peirce Co Wis I send my kindest wishes and regards to Emma. Anita – Mary and Joanna – and wish you to accept the same yourself from your affectionate Mother
