I have not given much time to botany of late being now chiefly engaged in geological studies. However I shall be glad to assist you in making the collection you desire. In two weeks I will set out on a season tour in the

High Sierra & [ well?] will make some collections for you. I have just returned from making the ascent of Mt. Shasta When I found Darlingtonia – have not observed it farther south will probably visit the Shasta region again in July when I will endeavor to procure [ species?] I remember our short meeting with [ Toney?] with great pleasure & am much obliged by your kind letter
