Dear Muir:
Did Harvard ever offer you a professorship? and when? who brought it about? And did Agassiz say that you were the only man living who understood glacial action in the formation of scenery? and where did he say it?
These statements I have seen in an article on you which is too badly written to print, even if we could print another article on you. But I should like to know the facts on these two points.
Please drop me a line soon. I shall not make any disadvantageous use of your reply.
