Shelby Oct 26th 04 Mr. John Muir Martinez Cal Dear Sir, Did Mr. Dowill make satisfactory arrangement with you for that peice of land back of his place. I notice that morning that he has it graded with the intention of improving it. I should think that the he had between 50 and 60 ft. There is a man here that wants to buy the property of Mr. Zales which is on the ranch near Valina. But wants to know if you would give him a leese for 5 years provided he paid his rent on time I told him that if you said he could have it for that time that could be as good as a leese. I understand that Mr. Griffin has turned his stock over to the board or his creditors [I?] gave an account of $75.00 for rent due. Will you advise me what to do about his rent, he owes to Nov 1st 04 $20.00. With Kindest regards to all I remain Yours truly Francis George The committee on street lights for Valona want to know if you will give the same amount as last year. Lights are to be in operation 6 months. F.G.
