I wish to express my appreciation of your coming to see me and leaving such a fine remembrance. I sincerely regret my being away from home and I feel honored to think you could spare time to call.

The sovereign is a gift I will treasure as much for its association with the giver as for itself.
Thank you very much and I hope you will come to see us again soon. Kindly remember me to Mrs. Muir, Wanda and Helen and with best wishes for yourself I remain
Very Sincerely
