Dear Mr Seaman:
I sincerely thank you for your kind invitation to make the Yosemite trip with you- a trip which at all times & seasons is one after my own heart though seldom make under auspices so pleasant as yours. It is with great regret therefore that I find it impossible to get away from the pile of work accumulated during more than a years absence abroad.
Thanking you again
I am with best wishes
faithfully yours
John Muir.
