July 1st - Friday Eve

Dear Mama -

We left Tuol[illegible] Meadows [illegible] [illegible] camping [near?] the foot of Bloody Canon [diacritic] that [night?], and at [illegible]er Lake next night. Arrived here yesterday noon. All well and happy. May stay here several days. Bloody Canon [diacritic] is [wonderful?], but the trail is awful. Great abundance of mosquitoes in the meadows where we lay. Lots of snow in M[illegible] Pass. If we dont decide to stay, start back tomorrow. With love. Helen.

[in margin: Wanda, Helen, Ray and Fred went up one of the craters today. I am enjoying milk here.]
