Dear Mrs Bidwell,
I am sorry I was away when you were in the city. As soon as I got home, Keith & my two girls made me go to the Grand Canon [diacritic] & Petrified Forests of Arizona where I was when your kind invitation & Mrs Cad[illegible]'s came here.
I am now trying to get a lot of letters answered which talus-like have been accumulating for more than a year. Nevertheless I hope to see you ere long. Remember me to Mrs Alexander & believe me ever faithfully yours
