Dear Miss Morgan
I thank you for the two verses & Ling spray & your Kind letter. There is something good in all your verses I have not yet heard from Mr Burroughs about his trip with the President but hope to see him. He should spend at least a summer with us After the President's Yosemite trip I start east, sail from New York on the Gaelic, May 29th; cross Asia by Russian road through Siberia & Manchuria

to Peking; thence to Japan & perhaps Jara & Manilla etc.
I have never seen Japan but like Manchuria its vegetation is so rich I have long wished to travel there. Of course I should like to see your book on Japan & after my return next year will be very glad to see you in California. In the meantime good bye with good wishes.
Faithfully yours
