Dear Mr. Lummis:-
I am now writing "Glaciers" for the Encyclopedia Americana, which I hope to get off my hands in a week or two. On May 14th I go to Yosemite with the President. On the 18th I start East and must push straight through to catch my steamer. But if between these time-consuming main affairs and many unmentionably small ones I can find an opening four or five days wide, I shall certainly bolt through it for the rest and refreshment you so kindly offer.
I am glad you will be with the President in the Grand Arizona Canon Country.
Faithfully and gratefully yours,
John Muir
