C. was figuring on going with the President, as if he was the one to show him the Sierra - "Can he dance the Hieland [fling?] or can he [illegible]oe a bonnie lassie" Nay - Nay - while I am at the writing I may as well tell you that we are trying to get your bust in the Academy of Sciences, and need about $500- more $400 has been subscribed, & I think Mrs Muir could send a ch[illegible] for the $500 - without feeling it
