[January, 1903]
Dear sister Sarah:
We are all shocked and grieved by the sad news of Hiram's death - husband and father cut off in his prime. We sympathise with you all, grandfather, grandmother, mother and little children, and pray Heaven to guide and console you in your bereavement and sorrow, and as soon [as] you can, let us know how best we can help you.
Ever affectionately yours,
J. M.
