Dear uncle John:
I am in receipt of a letter from Celia in which she tells me she has received a letter from you inclosing twenty dollars to me with your love.
Dear uncle John I thank you - especially for the love.
Mother and I are better than we were - doing the best we can. As for me it seems as if all the light and beauty in life are gone - but may be sometime the sun will shine again.
Yours affectionately,
Anna Galloway Eastman.
