My dear Sister Mary
We were glad to hear from you over more to learn that you & your family are well. Louis has been quite poorly for a long time but it now better all the rest of us are about as usual Maggie is better this year than she has been for many years & is [reviving?] her youth almost in the smiles of her new grandchild. Mays dignified happiness is grand. David is very busy shipping grapes making money & prospering generally. Im pegging away at a new book about forests etc.
Had a glorious trip up north among the forests gardens & glaciers of Alaska When I can find time to write about them I dont know
Thomas Hill is still painting in Wanona last I heard.
Ever lovingly your brother
