My dear Johnson
Have just a few minutes before the Loredo sails Hence this hasty scrawl Ive wished a 1000 times you were with us on this fine wild trip. It is just what you need How cool & grand the icy scenery & how beautiful. The St Elias & Fairweather glacial Mtns are glorious & its harmonies of ice & fire & green flowery slopes.
We are going to the Seal Islands from here & thence to St Laurence Isld & some points on the Siberian Coast then home. All are well. No discord as yet in the [queer?] Company. Remember [me] to the Gilders & Mrs Johnson
Ever Yours
