Dear Louie

We arrived here yesterday fournoon & expected to join the train this afternoon But a telegram from the train tells us that we will not leave for Seattle until tomorrow evening, the train arrives here early tomorrow morning
In the meantime we are getting a fine rest at Portland Hotel. Charlie Keeler is capital company & a good fellow everyway Im going to try now that the rain ceased to find someone that can tell me about the Rainier Park
I guess our party will be large Here are some clippings which tell little yet may interest you. I [dont?] want to give you eternal

trouble about fire, still I keep myself somewhat [illegible] about my MS.S.
Everything points to a good instructive time.
It seems that Mr Harriman's sole aim is to take scientists when they most wish to go & nowadays are the most inaccessible places.
Heaven bless you all I'll probably be able to give you some points on our route to which letters may be addressed
