Darlings Helen & wanda.
This is a [queer?] old Spanish town almost the oldest in America. Read about it Parkman. Palms cactuses live oaks hung with long moss magnolias etc & ruins of castles & churches & a lot of [immense?] modern hotels [wearisomely?] grand in which one gets lost.
The best thing I saw coming down the coast from Washington through Virginia Georgia & upper Florida was the happy hopeful bands of bright green long leaf pines. The young ones springing up among grass & drawf palmettos. A cheerier brighter more beautiful set can not be imagined.
