Wing and Wing,
Garrisons-on-Hudson,
Sunday, Nov. 6, 1898.
My dear Wanda,
I forgot to enclose these leaves in Mamma's letter, and so I send them in this. There is a dear little girl here, Josephine Osborn, whom you and Helen would like. Virginia, who is your age, is at boarding school. Mrs. Osborn is anxious to have you here on a long visit. I am sure you would enjoy it. But the Continent is so wide. The leaves I picked up from the door-step. The maples are very fine here, but this summer's glory will soon be past.
I go to New York tomorrow morning, and only wish I could fly straight home, instead of round about by Florida, but we have to go where Providence sends us. Love to Maggie.
Goodbye, my darlings, Helen and Wanda.
Ever your loving father,
JOHN MUIR
