My dear Cousin,
I received a newspaper from you a day or two ago which shows you bear me in mind. I have been hard at work all winter fighting on behalf of our forests. In a month from now I am going again into the northern wilderness in British Columbia & Alaska to study a few variable trees.
Here is a notice of the honorary degree of L L.D. conferred last commencement on me by the University of Wisconsin, which I thought might interest you Hoping you are well & also my friend Mrs Kelly. Mr Buchanen Susan Gilroy Miss Mattis etc I am ever very truly
