Dear Helen.
I got telegram from Huntsville yesterday glad to know you are well.
We had a fine trip on Black Warrior River & saw canebrakes & magnificent flowers & trees the weather is hot. We can get no further south on account of Yellow fever. Now we turn North by Birmingham Chattanooga & Lexington. Will be in New York in a week or so have letters sent there & to Jamaica Plains.
We leave here in a few minutes. The streets are grand oak [illegible] trees Willows water & [illegible] oak. a [illegible] [illegible] [illegible] [illegible]
