My dear little Helen
I hope when the steamship comes next time that I will get another nice letter from you. I wrote a letter to Wanda & now I must write one to you. Wanda's letter has a picture of the house we made in this cold rainy country to live in, & here is a picture of the same house showing the chimney. It is not a very warm house for there are many cracks & holes in it & the wind comes into it piping & laughing at us, but we laugh too & never mind the wind when we are dry & have a fire & a bed. The bed is hard but warm & I dont mind the hardness. If you were here I think you would be afraid at first for the big pieces of ice that come from the glacier make a terrible sound & shake the ground & shake the house more than a mile away. But the little pretty flowers are not afraid & the little birds & so you would soon get used to it like them. Papa will be very glad when he gets home to you again & to Wanda & Mamma & he will soon be home. Now I

send you many kisses & much love & hope that you will be very good to Mamma & Wanda & [Bap?] & grandma. It has been rainy nine days but today the sun came out & this is a beautiful night though it is cold & big black & gray clouds are hanging about the big mountains & the glacier & some of the big pieces of ice floating about in the water look dim & gray & I am glad my little girl is in a warm sunny country & in a cozy house & home. When I come back from a walk that I am going to take I will send you another picture.
