Dear Danl & Emma,

It seems a very long time since I have had any nes from either of you - I thought I must write now I hope you are all well, and if your Baby Boy is thriving as well as Joanna's Baby girl he will be doing very well indeed. Joanna is still with us, and Walter is still in Philadelphia and how long he will be there seems to be quite uncertain.

I have just received a letter from John, he has not yet got that large book finished, but expects to be done in two months The Century company has again prevailed on him to write an article for them monthly I have not heard anything of John Reid very lately he has been at Philadelphia, with some of his horses and he found out Walters while there David is well as usual, and is now quite busy as the Holiday trade has fairly begun

I am thankful to write that we are all in our usual health, and as the weather is very good although cold, we have no snow yet, and I am still able to walk out some, and then we can ride out at times as usual I now enclose this Bill as a kindly remembrance to the children not forgeting the Baby Boy

Love to all
