Dear Brother and Sister

I wish you and the dear little girls a happy Christmas and joyful New Year. on looking back the year seems to have passed quickly away, and we are still spured to reach out to each other with kindly thoughts and heartfelt greet- -ings. May the New year bring to you God's best blessings with health and happiness and the power to enjoy them well.

We are all pretty well here

here, Mother is in her usual health, she enjoys a walk as much as ever, but seems to get more easily tired than when you were here I think. Sister Annie still keeps improving and my own health is much better, I can do a good deal of work, and walk quite a little distance without getting too tired. We have much to be thankful for, more than we at all times realize, for I think one too often forgets how much there is that we may enjoy in reaching out often things that [we?] just

beyond our reach. And so Maggie is away out on the Kansas prairie helping to get meals and taking care of milk as in the days of old. I had a letter from her about two weeks ago in which she says that the change is proving beneficial. she seems to expect to spend the winter there. I do hope with all my heart that their prospects will brighten soon, and that the cheeriness and comfort of the old times may come back to them, John seems completely discouraged. Mother had a letter from Dan_ last week in which he tells us that he expects to visit us in January. if it is possible for him to leave at that time. when are

you going to take another trip in this direction? are you still writing? Your grapes will be all gathered now so that you will not be so busy on the ranch. Louis I hope that you are enjoying good health, what a pleasure your little girls will bring you every day. I remember how you did enjoy Wanda when we were with you. How many pleasant memories there is connected with that visit. I wonder if you will give us the pleasure of seeing you here. Give my love to your Father and Mother and kindest wishes for the coming year.

Once again I wish you all a glad New Year, Lovingly Sarah.
