John Muir Esq Martinez Cal. Dear Brother:
With pleasure I announce the arrival of another little girl baby on the coming of the 24#, she is a fine fat health baby and weighed 9 lbs. Joanna is doing well, I have very good help in the house. I have got the trade thru at last. The notes & deed of trust for $1,500. (less $124.42 the interest on the $4000. notes of yours to date)I have taken in Joanna's name and will sell them to help clean up some matters of my own which need attention at this time and to pay the commissions which I have to pay and and the Interest and expenses of sale all of which I cannot make a full statement yet as they are not all paid I shall keep a complete book account of all transactions so we can settle properly at some future date.
