Dear Broh Dan
[illegible] at home a week ago today, & found all well. We were much disappoin -ted [illegible] not coming to fathers funeral. John [illegible] spoke of it - again & again.
When we parted with you it was agreed that you find out some way of making [illegible] or gotten so the the property might be in your name (to save time in conveying) & at some time so that [illegible] would have something to show from you what we had [illegible].
but I have not recd any word from you [illegible] but it is just as well for money is dreadful [illegible ]with us at present. [illegible] full [illegible] but you have better [illegible] of it & I will. John said he would put up at [illegible] as I would that when I sent you money to [illegible]him & he would immediately send you [illegible]
Walter & others appeared to be afraid of Cheyenne [illegible] or of great altitude, would have to go deep for water & [illegible] Obsiden Calder & would not be settled up so early nor be in demand to some [illegible] w think western Kansas preferable for her above [illegible] on more mature deliberation after you left us we got to
supposing you bought six sections at $350 per acre & you did not [illegible] them as soon as you expected [illegible] we had to pay a bill of $12000.00 of $15,000.00 or would be in a [illegibl e]fix. So to avoid the above damages we thought two or three Sections would be enough & that John & I only [illegible ]all the money for the first pay -ment the first years taxes & the first years interest, i.e., the cost of buying & holding it twelve months, & after that you pay one third with us, that would give you almost two years to sell it & get 1/3 of the profit without costing you anything except expense of finding it & buying [illegible], but after that pay & share alike, that will [illegible]
study this over & let me know from [illegible] RR land in Dansas is not taxable until deeded
I dont pretend to know which is best
my kindest regards to Mrs. M. & your girls ever [illegible] yours D G Muir
