Your [illegible] came to hand yesterday from which it appears that grass does not grown under your feet at this rate of proceeding Lou[illegible] [illegible] yesterday addr to Portage possibly may reach you. Wanda nursing [illegible] letters is bright as ever. [Grma?] improving measurably. [Couter?] took 257 [box?] fo. design to finish end week by picking [illegible] V[illegible] — grapes ripening fairly — [illegible] should be fair by [illegible].- shipped some [illegible]. [illegible] keeps [illegible] [scratching enough?]
to soon [ways?] — weather [having?] indications of early rain. Hope you can Subdue your rebellious Stomach [illegible] from pain take hold of that Indian pony & ca[illegible] over the familiar haunts of your [illegible] days & c[illegible] some pleasure in the autumn at woods gazing some forest colors for future wood painting.
