John Muir, Esq.
Martinez, Cal.

My dear Mr. Muir:-

I have yours of the 24th of October and thank you very much for its kindness and for the fifteen photographs of the Muir Glacier, which have duly arrived. I do not find the map of the Muir Glacier to which you refer.
We are very glad to know that you are at work on the alaska articles, of which we expect to make a feature."
As you do not tell me in response to my request what we ought to pay you for the King*s River article, we have jumped at the conclusion that the payment for the Yosemite articles was satisfactory, and I therefore send yon a check for 165 to which our Art Department has added another for 120 for the use of the sketches. (illegible)
Robinson continue to keep me informed of (illegible) concerning (illegible) matters.now(illegible) you would start a petition for the return of the old park to the (illegible)matter up. I haven't had time to take up the (illegible) scheme but it is n't necessary.

Regards to Mrs. Muir.
