Dear Daniel
I begin to think you are very long in answering my last letter so I write again. I want to know how you are getting along the path of life - are you still in the same shop - have you decided to come west this summer you know I am always glad to have you come - I hope you are as much interested about religious matters as before as spiritual things are of so much greater importance than temporal concerns are - We did not forget your birthday last friday hoping you will yet see many happy returns of it.
In inclose this [buffle?] as a birth day present - Margt has not got home yet but she is much better, I am glad of it. a few days ago we went to visit Sarah at her new home and was much pleased with the appearance of the farm I think it is a very pleasant place and only about 8 miles from Portage they have a large fine orchard with the appearance of plenty fruit of different kinds they have a good school and a public road to it - we are all well. the girls still attend school - Now Daniel I hope you will write when you receive this and let us know when you had a letter from John
from your ever affectionate Mother
