Dear brother & sister -

I am before you again, in haste as usual with another letter, my [illegible] [illegible] has just re- turned me to this busy wakeful world , and I suppose that the dull god still holds the five fold family of Galloway and so you are bless with another daughter, I trust that she and her dear mother are well. What is to be her name, not Dans' favorite I hope [illegible] Patrickina What does she seem to think of life, what are Georges' observations on the matter. Well David really you must be a happiest man - happy when Anna was bestowed - happier with Georgie, & happiest with the little anonymous one

[deleted Mary is glad to hear of your obtaining a congenial situation and sends her best regards, JM]

[deleted not wonder that your children are moved with peoples' what is in your last] Here is a present of Canadian mosses for her, I trust that she will be a lover of Nature like her mother, if so she will perhaps some day realize the value of the gift which has cost me more labor than the uninitiated can readily think of - these are the first specimens that I have analyzed of the diffi- cult order "Musci" Dear Sister S I most warmly con- gratulate you on this joyous occasion of the advent of another Miss Galloway May she be spared to comfort yourself and others, I often wish that I could write more & oftener to you but I know that you will excuse me I have to do two or three times
