Dear Friend; Although not par- ticularly invited to participate in the correspondence, which is car- ried on between you and the children I hope you will excuse the liberty I take in so doing so; for I feel that I owe you an apology, for my neg- ligence in fulfilling your request at the time I certainly intended doing so, but in laying it away safely until the time should come, for me to send it, I laid it away so securely, that it
was many days after the appointed time, e're its hiding place was re- veiled, and since then in attending School, etc., and besides not knowing of your whereabouts, it has remained until the present time. You have probably heard from the children of our change in place of residence; I fear it would not be quite so handy for you to run in, if you were still at the University, as I often wish you were, the children miss you very much, and often wish they could see you again. As Mr [High?] was here the other eve- ning and said that you had appointed him your attorney, and he would therefore take the sermon & send it to you, after reading it, I allowed him to take it, you will not be offended, will you? although I did promise not to lend it. Mother is quite sick,
has been since last Tuesday, but is now better. Hoping that God will bless you in all things, I remain as ever Your Friend Flora Griffin
