Dear John
I am enjoying good health and hope you are enjoying the same. I have just come home from the Episcopal church none of the rest went for they thought it was to stormy but the minister did not come I suppose he thought it was to stormy for the people to come his name is Mr Hudson. this morning Anna and I went to the Methodist church and I expect to go again this evening his name is Mr. Springer, he is a very smart preacher. I went to the prayer meeting twice in the Methodist church and I liked it very well the Presbyterian ministers name is Mr. Vangant and I don't know what the Baptist ministers name is. I have heard all of them preach and they all read their sermons but Mr. Springer and he is the best preacher
of them all he is the best preacher [illegible] ever heard. John does any of the ministers at Madison read their sermons. I like pretty well to live in the city and I like very well to go to school we are going to have singing in our school now I like very well to go up to the railway station and see the engines. One day after school Anna and I wanted to go and take a walk and we went away up past the [Colages?] and start forward to the railroad and a train happened to be passing and there was a man in the place where the engineer [stays?] after they were past no[illegible] to me and said something and we thought perhaps it would be you but we found we were mistaken write soon if you please. from your affectionate sister Mary Muir Take good care of the almanac 00238
