Friend Muir Priarie Du Chine Dr sir yours was duly received but till to day I have not had time to answer it I am still to work in the Capitol and am very busy in fixing up the house for the Legislature we are pleased to hear you are well and among good friends as for our friend Kerby the last I heard from him he was in Mazo Manie and has not sold any territory as yet I should think from what I can learn that he has a hard row to hoe. As for ourselves we are all well and getting along about as well as could be expected. About our thermometer I have not found anyone that will say they will take hold of
if but if you should come this way we shall expect you to call and see us and then we will talk the matter over Mrs Darnel and little Harry send there best respects to you and with many kind wishes for your future welfare and hoping to hear from you again soon I remain Your friend and well wishes John H Darnel 634
