Schact, Linda: Moscone's win over Barbagelata
Abstract
Linda Schact: That night that George Moscone beat John Barbagelata by just this much, I was wherever George’s victory party was and talking to him and suddenly looks [at me] and says “Linda, did I really only beat John Barbagelata by that much?” I said “Yeah, less than one percent.” He seemed to not be able to believe it. Jon Rubin: [He wasn’t very happy.] Linda Schact: No, no. Jon Rubin: And that was [a slim margin]. Linda Schact: Yeah, and it was not only just a slim margin. A victory is a victory, but it was a very slim margin, and that foretold trouble ahead.
