however destructive at first sight seems to have resulted in tender beauty & happiness & no wonder since every atom entering into the structure of a storm is measured & fitted to its place, has Natures [Nature’s] square & plummet laid upon it & is inspired with unchangeable love.
[Soon all] The snow [was] soon melted, the bent branches sprang back to their places refreshed
The green Carices & patches of white violets are again visible over the [fresh] shining meadows The Libocedrus colors are brighter than before & its golden pollen is being sown by the winds far & near plumes are poising in the bland air of as [beautiful] fine a green & faultless a curve as ever were made
[In A few days later]
The Douglas spruce is decked with yellow sprays a day or two old. The pines are shedding off the brown scales of their buds & pushing forth sheaves of needles. The oaks [putting out purple] with bright array of young leaves seem covered with purple mist, Cornus & alder growing fast [ripening]. The ouzel leads the birds in song. All the lost life seems back by a miracle as if instead of a crushing snow-storm only a [silent] refreshing [dew] shower had fallen
Nature loves man, beetles, & birds with the same love.

Clouds Yo [Yosemite]
Clouds are the most imposing of all the Yo. [Yosemite] visitors, a few are valley born but most come from the adjacent mountains. They seem to wedge & scramble among the roughest crags & swim & glide & drift down the canons, over smooth brows & sheer cliffs with peculiarly impressive gestures & [after] when a storm is breaking up the light effects are marvelously effective. & The [grand] show [seeming] seems to be held in a [walled] room.
The Frost Crystals Yo [Yosemite]
During clear cool nights in autumn fine crops of crystals [are produced] grow on the grass , & trees, & rocks, & even on [surface] sheets of snow when there is any. The effect after perfectly still nights when the sun rises is glorious
The size & beauty of the crystals, the sunlight sifting through them in irised color make a show far surpassing what one could imagine about it.
[The lord seems] [Nature] With [his] her storms of snow hail volcanic fire & lightning she seems to scatter firebrands arrows & death among [his] her creatures & so [he] she does but they are scattered as the stars are scattered in the heavens, each in its place singing together in faithful harmony
