Here & there a juniper. dry white alkali Came to end of road whiskey bottles Came to edge of bluff 500 [down] to left lake to right lava beds gray with pitted [app] gradually rising to [S] [mtn] dark forest broken only by smooth sides of craters. Shasta SW glorious with white rock
